I started my book review blog in 2009 and I have read so many outstanding books that I wanted to share them again with my followers on #SegueSaturday. I first posted this review in April 2009 when Barbara Freethy was a fairly new fiction writer and had a handful of books published. Now she is a #1 New York Times bestselling author of over 50 novels. Enjoy!
MY REVIEW
The events of one night had been lost in her subconscious for twenty-four years. And every few years the nightmares came back, torturing her for weeks at a time and then disappearing as quickly as they’d come. But this time was different. The dreams were getting worse, and the fear was relentlessly increasing with each passing night, as if something were coming for her, something horrific.
I couldn’t put this book down! The suspense is awesome and you can cut the tension between “Sarah” and Jake with a knife.
Sarah Tucker has amnesia after being run off the road. Enter a handsome stranger who claims she ran away with their only child. And where IS her child? Sarah’s past is unknown to her, but there is someone trying to kill her.
An excellent book by Barbara Freethy and I can’t wait to read Dylan and Catherine’s story in Silent Fall.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Barbara’s love of writing developed out of a love of reading. Growing up in an all-boy neighborhood, she spent quite a bit of time reading through her mother’s large library, many of which were romantic novels. After graduating from the University of California at Santa Barbara, she went into Public Relations, but soon discovered that writing was her true passion.
Barbara was traditionally published for many years, then formed her own publishing company FOG CITY PUBLISHING in 2011 and has since sold over 7 million books! She has published 62 novels ranging from contemporary romance to romantic suspense and women’s fiction. Her book SUMMER SECRETS was a #1 New York Times bestseller! She is currently writing THE CALLAWAYS, a connected family series. The Callaways are a family born to “serve and protect” and many of the characters are San Francisco firefighters.
She also just concluded the Lightning Strikes Trilogy – all three books are now available (Beautiful Storm, Lightning Lingers, and Summer Rain).
