Bullet Wrecker (Anthology #2) by Alexander Salfiti

ABOUT THE BOOK

When Lee Jence gets a bullet to the spine while on tour in Afghanistan it isn’t just his own life that gets thrown into flux. While coming to terms with his new disability, his wife Laura, his best friend Stephen and his mother Rachel all have their lives turned upside down when a single bullet wrecks their home.

With Lee’s mental health on the decline will his family stay by his side, or will they find it all too easy themselves to slip into oblivion?

MY REVIEW

Bullet Wrecker is a novella about the consequences of war and its affect on family and friends.

Though the story is short, the depth of the story is real and heartbreaking. It takes us through Lee’s mental state after losing the use of his legs and how he deals with it. To add more hurt, he finds out his wife and best friend are having an affair. Though his wife and best friend could be perceived as the lowest of the low on the surface, the story includes their stories as well and what they are going through.

The book is a well-written, emotional roller coaster taking you from despair, anger, and forgiveness all within 79 pages. The letter Lee writes to Laura at the end brought tears to my eyes.

Thank you to Mr. Salfiti and Voracious Readers for giving me the opportunity to review this book with no expectations of a positive review given.
