MY REVIEW
I have been reading Harlequin for many years, so when I had a chance to try a Harlequin Intrigue with a hot cowboy on the cover, I couldn’t pass it up.
Oh, he didn’t know sorry, but he would soon enough. He would rue this day. And if he thought he’d seen the last of her, he was in for a surprise. That Montana hayseed would have Chase over her dead body.
Chase’s drunken one-night stand with Fiona was a big mistake and he tried to let her down easily; however, she wouldn’t take no for an answer. When she finds out he is going back home to the woman he loved, she isn’t going to let him forget her that easily. How far would she go to get him back?
The story is told in many points of view. Chase and Mary are the main romantic characters. Fiona is the jilted and crazy lover, who has an evil agenda, and Dillon is the unlikeable deputy sheriff with a secret.
The tone is romantic with darkness and suspense slowly building to the finale. A great start to the Cardwell Ranch series.

B.J. Daniels’ life dream was to be a policewoman. After a career as an award-winning newspaper journalist, she wrote and sold 37 short stories before she finally wrote her first book. Since then she has won numerous awards including a career achievement award last year for romantic suspense.
She lives in Montana with her husband, Parker, two Springer Spaniels, Jem and Spot, and a temperamental tomcat named Jeff. When she isn’t writing, she snowboards, camps, boats and plays tennis.
