MY REVIEW

Morgan of the Lake had been reborn as the sorceress Morgan Le Fay, stronger and more resilient than ever. She didn’t give a fuck what anyone thought.

Morgan is imprisoned and her magic taken away by Merlin, eccentric Fae sorcerer. She has been accused of murder and trying to kill Guinevere, Queen of the Seelie Fae, but the Cauldron of Dagda will bring back what she holds dear no matter the cost.

After Merlin rescued me from the Red Caps, it took months for him to draw me out of a feral state and almost two years until I didn’t flinch around people. We spent a great amount of time together during those years. He gave me the opportunity to heal on the inside and out. Not only would I be eternally grateful to him for saving me, I appreciated that he never treated me like a dog—not even when it was warranted by my erratic behavior.

Knight’s duty to Merlin was to protect Morgan, but he didn’t expect his bad opinion of her to change. By assisting her with the quest to find the Cauldron of Dagda, he finds there is more to her than meets the eye.

Though this is book 5 in the series, it can be read alone and Ms. Ramsower’s glossary of names and descriptions is very helpful. I chose the book because of the urban fantasy and romantic theme. And what a beautiful cover!

The characters are based around the faery story of King Arthur and the knights of the roundtable with many twists. It also includes the Fisher King, Druids, Trolls, Valkyries, and the Sword of Light (aka Excalibur).

Morgan and Knight’s story is an enemies to lovers story that is complicated and very hot. Their verbal sparring is fun and enticing. The magic adds to the intrigue.

An enjoyable and magical read with plenty of surprises. Recommend highly!
