MY REVIEW
I love a hot and steamy romance with great family ties and wonderful friendships and Unravel Me has both. Apparently, Derek and Valentina first appeared in Hicks’ Love Over Lattes and are starting off the family saga of 5 hot and sexy brothers in the Cole Brothers series.
Derek didn’t like waiting. He wanted a life with me; he didn’t see why we couldn’t start immediately. For my part, I couldn’t think of a single reason to stay apart from him, so I’d agreed to everything—the house, the ring, the fairy tale—though I kept waiting for the other glass slipper to drop. This was too perfect, too fast.
Valentina was in an abusive relationship before Derek so it took some time for her to trust any man, but Derek swept her off her feet and became engaged to a billionaire CEO within a month. Now their new whirlwind life is about to take another big step with a month-long stay at Derek’s home in Atlanta to meet his 4 brothers and intimidating mother. Unfortunately, Valentina’s life is in danger due to Derek’s bad decisions and their marriage may not happen.
Valentina seemed a bit timid at first, but her strength in overcoming an abusive relationship and raising a young boy by herself proves she is a fighter. Her kindness and quiet strength are a good compliment to Derek’s energy and drive as a billionaire CEO.
As I said earlier, I like family sagas and within the first book there seem to be interesting potential relationships within the Cole family that I can’t wait to read next. If you love steamy romances with humor and suspense, read book 1 in the Cole series.
