MY REVIEW
Eve is spending Christmas alone for the first time in fourteen years. As a tour manager for Travel Together, a tour group full of singles, she deserves some time off. No drama, no incidents, no headaches, until….the latest inexperienced tour manager disappears from a holiday tour in Essex, and Eve’s boss begs her to fill in for three days. What could go wrong?
This engaging story is filled with complex characters who have their own unique histories to tell. Ms. Spires’ attention to detail keeps the reader captivated with the beautiful scenery and history of the location as well as the quirky and erratic behaviors of Eve’s clients.
I could relate to the age group represented and the emotions run rampant ranging from anger to sadness, and lots of laughter. There are also important lessons learned such as live for the moment, forgive yourself, don’t settle for second best, and true freedom is living with other people’s disapproval.
Though this book is filled with many characters and it is book 3 in the Singles series, Ms. Spires does an excellent job keeping all the characters interesting and easy to follow. In fact, by the end of the book, I felt like I made some new friends. Recommend highly!
