MY REVIEW

I was thrilled to finally pick up the sequel to the beautiful and heartbreaking If Ever We Meet Again.  Book 2 did not disappoint.

Farrah Lin is a strong and resilient woman who is desperately trying to find a job in New York City and as fate has it, she reluctantly accepts a job with the man who tore her heart out five years ago. She has to keep it professional because she doesn’t trust him and she doesn’t trust her heart. Let’s just say, the best-laid plans often go awry.

Blake Ryan is a charismatic and successful businessman on the surface, but he is broken underneath with a lot of demons in his past. And now, by some kind of miracle he has found the love of his life again and vows to get her back no matter what. It’s going to be an uphill battle because he screwed up really bad and she’s starting to come around, but a trip home to Austin opens all of his old wounds and life doesn’t look so grand anymore.

Farrah and Blake are made for each other, but they need to let each other in. Blake has a lot of heartache to make up for. Watching him redeem himself and bare his soul to Farrah with passionate and heart-stopping prose and loving gestures is moving and very crucial for his inner peace and her trust. Farrah has a difficult choice and I was proud to see her hold out for the love she deserves.

This story wasn’t all drama and also had a lot of flirting and LOL moments that gave it balance.  In fact, the unforgettable supporting characters from book 1 return with their sage, but unwanted, advice and their charming banter.  My favorite character is the new sexy and funny womanizer and Blake’s bartender friend, Justin. The man says it like it is whether Blake wants to hear it or not. Farrah’s best friend, Olivia is another great character who had me laughing at her dry sense of humor, and I can’t wait to find out what’s going on with her and Sammy. I’m sure that’s another story in the future.

Overall, I devoured this extremely romantic sequel with a deserved HEA ending to Farrah and Blake’s tragic love story. If you enjoy romances about redemption, forgiveness, and everlasting love, give this book a try.

This book can be read as a standalone, but if you want to truly experience Blake and Farrah’s story, pick up book 1, If Ever We Meet Again first. It will give you an insight into how hard they fell for each other in Shanghai and how this book gives them the closure they deserve.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ana HuangAna Huang is an Amazon best-selling author of Young Adult, New Adult, and contemporary romance. Her books often feature strong heroines, sexy heroes, and Asian American characters.

The daughter of Chinese immigrants, Ana started writing stories at age five to improve her English skills (thanks to her mom’s encouragement). She picked up her first romance novel at age twelve by happy accident and never looked back.

Besides reading and writing, Ana loves traveling and learning about new cultures. She majored in international relations and her travels often inspire her story settings. For example, her novel If We Ever Meet Again was inspired by her own study abroad adventures in China.

Ana lives in New York, where she prefers cafe-hopping, exploring the city’s hidden gems, and binge-watching Netflix with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s over taking advantage of the city’s nightlife. She doesn’t drink coffee (gasp!) but absolutely lives for matcha and chai lattes.
