Shooting Stars Over Bluebell Cliff by Della Galton

Shooting Stars Over Bluebell Cliff

ABOUT THE BOOK

There’s someone out there for everyone… you just need to know where to look…

Unlucky in love Poppy Allen is the producer of a brand-new TV show, ‘Date for a Day’ – think ‘Take Me Out’ meets ‘It’s a Knockout’!

Lovelorn contestants must perform a series of seaside challenges to win the hand of the starring lady and a ‘Date for a Day’.

Left heartbroken when Stephen, her childhood sweetheart eloped with her best friend on her hen night – Poppy has no plans to risk her own heart again. Besides, she’s far too busy filming contestants against the backdrop of the beautiful Bluebell Cliff Hotel and the stunning Jurassic Dorset coastline.

However, when sabotage on set threatens to stop shooting, Poppy discovers soulmates can be found in the most unexpected places…

MY REVIEW

I chose to review this book because of Poppy’s swearing off men after being dumped for her best friend. For some reason, I like these tropes. Maybe it’s because I like watching a strong independent woman get a second chance when she least expects it. Maybe I’m just a romantic at heart. Whatever the reason this story didn’t let me down.

Poppy’s ambitious production of her new TV pilot called “Date for a Day” is really happening. Her stepsister, Alice, agrees to be the woman who chooses from seven handsome men to be her date. Despite the disruptions from a personal vendetta between a hot contestant and his nemesis and a sprained ankle, Poppy keeps the cameras rolling with the help of her long-time trusted friend Dave.

Poppy is a determined and hard-working producer who loves her family dearly. Her ex and best friend really did a number on her and it’s understandable that she refuses to trust a man with her heart again. But with the unending patience of the perfect man right under her nose, she is in good hands.

If you like character-driven stories filled with family drama, behind-the-scenes reality TV, and a few laughs on the beautiful Jurassic Coast in Dorset, give this book a try.

Thank you to Ms. Galton for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
