Permanent Happiness: The Only Way to Find Peace, Joy and your Life-Given Purpose by Iyabo Ojikutu

Peace is permanent happiness.

Dr. Ojikutu’s guide advises us that we have two lines: our spiritual  line and our physical line, and we have to simultaneously nourish them in order to achieve our goals of peace and permanent happiness.  She goes on to describe ways to balance our lines and to help balance our children’s lives as well.  For example, stop holding onto negative things and love others by being patient and using self-control.

She dedicates chapters to our spiritual lives, our physical lives, asking for help from others, and to positively influence others.  She believes her three steps to living a meaningful and peaceful life, is the “only way to pursue peace, find joy, live a meaningful life, and fulfill our life purposes”.

She gives examples in her life where she connects with her spiritual line by using quiet prayer and journaling to feel peace with her deceased father’s presence, and she explains that sometimes you have to quit things in your life such as marriage, friends and/or a job to bring peace to your life.

As for your physical line, she adds that you must take action for your health and appearance and if you don’t feel good about yourself inside, you won’t look good on the outside.

Dr. Ojikutu’s guide will give you pause in looking at your life both physically and spiritually.  Her advice is frank and some may not want to look at their life so deeply, but if you are ready for a change for the better, give her book a try.  It is a way to bring peace and true meaning to your life by “finding comfort in every situation and life circumstance you encounter, whether positive or adverse”.

Thank you to Dr. Ojikutu for giving me the opportunity to review her book!
