ABOUT THE BOOK

Is it ever too late for love?

When Mike dumps Louise on their 20th Wedding Anniversary, her entire world comes to an end.

Devastated and confused, she attempts to make sense of what happened and returns to a city she’s avoided for two decades.

Will she be able to move on with the man she left behind or will Mike’s increasingly violent and unhinged behaviour continue to haunt and ruin her life? When the reason Mike left her at long last is revealed Louise’s life is in serious danger.

MY REVIEW

It’s over. I’m not returning to you. Don’t bother to try and change my mind. I’ll pick up my belongings later.” Mike’s voice was deathly cold. It was as if they’d never known each other, much less shared a life. Feeling faint, Louise whispered, “You’re kidding, right?” “I’ve never been more serious than I am now,” Mike replied. “We’re through, Louise. Consider yourself dumped!” The line went dead.

Set in London and later in Malmö, Sweden, the story is about broken marriages, infidelity, greed and narcissism. It is also about starting over and reuniting with old friends and lovers.

The story starts slowly, but as the mental state of the antagonist erodes the dread builds to make one wonder what will happen next.

The characters are well developed and the tangled webs of their lives start to both unravel and mend in the end.

A character-driven psychological thriller that will leave you rooting for the protagonist and hoping the antagonist gets their karma.

Thank you to Ms. Fermont, Fridhem Publishing, and Book on the Bright Side Publicity and Promo for giving me the opportunity to review this book with no expectations of a positive review given.
