A Beast So Cold (Beauty & The Beast #2) by Beena Khan
ABOUT THE BOOK
The moment the devil saw me at the auction, he purchased me.
Once upon a time…
A beast craved me, the beauty… I was his Doll, and he was my darkest fairytale.
I ravaged the beast, and the rival Don, the blue-eyed devil took me.
His angelic beauty is frightening, and I want no part of it. I’m trapped by him now in a dark place and I can’t escape. I vowed to bring him down, and I won’t rest until I do.
Vlad made Dahlia his queen. The reason behind his smile. If he was ruthless before, now he’s heartless. Nobody takes away what he wants. A beast is no man, and he’s going to prove it by dragging her from hell.
Vengeance is all Vlad seeks now, no matter what the cost. It’s kill or be killed.
Welcome to New York’s Underworld.
MY REVIEW
The conclusion of Dahlia’s and Vlad’s story has rung me out. It is rife with revenge, retaliation, and redemption. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend you read A Beauty So Cruel to get the whole story.
With Don Vladimir Vitalli “The Beast” in prison, Dahlia’s new assignment is Salvi “The Devil” Moretti. The man who triggered a past sexual assault. Her hatred for him is high and she will do anything to take him down. Is he a bad man? Yes, but he redeems himself in a horrible event that rips Dahlia’s life apart. It’s Vlad whom she loves, but his first reaction to abandon her when she needed him desperately is devastating. So much so, that I lost respect for him. When he finally does something to help her, is it enough? Is it too late?
Dahlia’s guilt over Vlad’s incarceration is with her every day because she cares for him, but she is dedicated to her cause. They are two very strong and stubborn people in love who must forgive and fight for each other in order to move on from very tragic circumstances.
Vlad trusted Dahlia enough to tell her personal things he has never told anyone else. Her betrayal gutted him and his rage and hatred at her made him walk away when she needed him most. Was his hatred worth her ruin?
My heart broke for Dahlia. She seemed so alone and lost but she stuck with her mission no matter what the cost to her sanity. Vlad’s feelings toward Dahlia’s betrayal are valid, but his split decision at the prison still bothers me. He does eventually do what’s right, but only after she fiercely proves how much she loves him. I confess I found myself liking Salvi Moretti with all his flaws, and I can’t wait to hear more about him in a future book. The same goes for Dahlia’s protective and ruthless friend and family Chief Miran.
Ms. Khan’s alphas are cold, calculating, and love deeply. Her heroines have strong morals and are dedicated to their cause. Your heart will break, your anger will boil, and your breath will catch as you are guided through some very dark twists and turns to a happily ever after.
I recommend this dark take on Beauty and the Beast for those who enjoy dangerous, deadly, and sensual romances with complex and redeemable characters. Please be aware there are powerful and serious triggers in this book including rape, sexual assault, murder, abuse, bullying, and violence.
Thank you to Ms. Khan for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
