Daisy’s Dilemma by Debbie Viggiano

Daisys Dilemma

ABOUT THE BOOK

Florist Daisy is loved-up and blossoming.  Boyfriend Dominic has proposed marriage!

However, Dominic isn’t in any rush to buy a ring, and meeting the parents is looong overdue.  What is the problem?  After all, Daisy’s mum has already bought her big hat and wants to know the wedding date!

Then careless words plant seeds of doubt and, like weed, Daisy’s concerns begin to multiply.  Is Dominic hiding something?

Meanwhile, sexy ex Harry is back on the scene and begging Daisy for a reconciliation.  He thought the grass was greener with HER but now says he made a mistake.  Is Harry – for once – being genuine, or simply leading Daisy up the garden path?

New neighbour Seth seems like a fun guy, but a single throwaway comment has Daisy mimicking a species of Calla Lily – Red Alert!  It’s time to do some digging.  But even she never anticipated a mad car chase across London or unearthing a shocking secret that changes everything.

Sparks are set to fly in this gorgeous romantic comedy about love, trust, and new beginnings.

MY REVIEW

The next-door neighbor gives her fireworks. Her fiancé gives her excuses. Her ex-husband gives her heartburn. And her inner voice gives her the best advice. Namely, dump the fiancé and shag the neighbor.  But that’s not who Daisy is, she’s the nice girl with a big heart who wants marriage and a happy family. Until nagging doubts start creeping in and she goes all Jane Pond to get some answers.

Daisy has come a long way after her ex-husband, Harry, divorced her to be with another woman. She is now happy again with her successful business as a florist and her new fiance, Dominic. However, Dominic travels a lot for his job, and being together is difficult. To pass the time, she becomes friends with her new artist neighbor Seth who gives her tingles each time he brushes up against her. But Daisy is true to Dominic and suggests her best friend, Becky, give him a look-see. Until Becky meets someone more to her liking knowing that Daisy and Seth have a connection. When Dominic’s behavior starts to open Daisy’s eyes, she does a little sleuthing to uncover a nasty truth and gets her just revenge.  Seth is a good guy who offers his help and advice to Daisy when she needs it most. He’s nonjudgmental and he clearly respects the boundaries she sets as she pours out her heart about her relationship with Dominic. Becky is a hoot and evoked a chuckle from me every time she spoke. Her straight talk with Daisy is needed but could be delivered in a kinder tone sometimes. As for Dominic, Daisy uncovers a shocking secret about him from an unlikely clue.

I recommend this hilarious romantic comedy with a diverse group of quirky characters and a realistic plot where the heroine works through her “dilemma” and makes her own happy ending.

Thank you to Ms. Viggiano for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
