MY REVIEW

I was so excited to read another novel by Rachael Stewart and Losing Control didn’t disappoint.  When an estranged son, brother, and fiance shows up at his father and brother’s funeral after seven years, he has a lot of time and pain to make up for.

Cain O’Connor is a self-made billionaire after being cut off from his father seven years ago. His resentment at being an outsider to his family is understandable and to see his pain at dealing with the loss of both his father and brother, is heartbreaking, but it’s the secret from the woman who betrayed him that is devastating.

Alexa is the CEO of the O’Connors company and resents the fact that Cain is back to take it back. The man she loved abandoned her when she needed him most and now he is determined to take her back, but will he forgive her for the shattering secret she kept from him for seven years.

It is obvious that the chemistry between Cain and Alexa is still strong, they just need to be honest and admit their feelings for each other. The secret that Alexa reveals to Cain is so tragic and my heart broke for both of them.  But after Cain’s initial grief-stricken and knee-jerk reaction to the news, he makes such an incredibly amazing grand gesture to Alexa to make up for all of the loss they experienced over the years.

Overall, this is a poignant and tragic romance about pain and loss and a love that endures for all time.  If you enjoy second chance romances full of sexual tension and a secret that could change everything, give this book a try. Thank you to Ms. Stewart for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Rachael StewartRachael Stewart adores conjuring up stories for the readers of Harlequin Mills & Boon and Deep Desires Press, with tales varying from the heartwarmingly romantic to the wildly erotic.

She’s been writing since she could put pen to paper as the stacks of scrawled on A4 sheets in her loft will attest to, and the lovingly bound short stories that her father would run off at work and proudly share out with his colleagues. Thinking it was a pipe dream to be published one day, she pursued a sensible career in business but she was really play-acting, achieving the appropriate degree and spending many years in the corporate world where she never truly belonged. Always happiest when she was sat at her laptop in the quiet hours tapping out a story or two. And so here she is, a published author, her full-time pleasure, a dream come true.

A Welsh lass at heart, she now lives in Yorkshire with her husband and three children, and if she’s not glued to her laptop, she’s wrapped up in them or enjoying the great outdoors seeking out inspiration.
