And what secrets will be revealed by the box of memories Florence finds in the attic at Bay Tree Terrace?
Let Fay Keenan transport you to the perfect country winter wonderland, with roaring fires, spectacular scenery, and unforgettable characters. Perfect for all fans of Cathy Bramley, Fern Britton and Katie Fforde.
MY REVIEW
When attraction immediately blooms, but responsibilities and doubts get in the way, friends and family come to the rescue.
Florence is direct and a little pushy, but, after all, she is a schoolteacher used to a tough crowd. And Sam is definitely a frustratingly tough nut to crack. He’s private and keeps everything close to the vest, and he is understandably overprotective of his younger brother, Aidan, after his tragic incident in the army. But can Sam open up his heart to Florence before it’s too late?
Florence and Sam are an appealing couple and it is intriguing to watch how they deal with the chemistry. I loved how the author used the play to bring them together. Aidan’s battle with PTSD is a serious and compelling story as well as the secret he reveals. A great addition to the story. The beautiful setting of the quirky town of Willowsbury is an added bonus along with the wonderful supporting cast of characters.
Overall, this is a refreshing and engaging Shakespearean-like love story set at Christmas time. In addition, the author readily and aptly tackles some important subjects such as PTSD and sexuality. If you enjoy heartwarming romances with thought-provoking subject matter and relatable characters, give this book a try.
Thank you to Ms. Keenan for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
