MY REVIEW
Holy Fated Mates! Where do I start with this 700+-page book that hooked me from the first page? This book is thick and juicy, and I devoured every single delicious bit with a satisfaction that comes only when you discover a story that resonates with you as a reader.
Assyria’s journey was nothing short of inspiring. She is so fearless and tenacious, and the strength she showed after enduring so much at the hands of her evil husband had my heart breaking for her. She is the kind of badass female lead we all root for as she stands her ground and takes no nonsense throughout the story. Her magical gift is awesome, and I hope she uses it more in book two.
The grumpy, tattooed Rokath the Deathcaller is all alpha male. He is tragic, broody, merciless, and prophesied to fulfill a powerful destiny for the Demon Realm. He believes he has no time for distractions, especially those that come in the form of a fierce and formidable female. But oh, the Fates clearly have some epic plans in store for these two. It’s beyond good; it’s fantastic!
Every moment in this book had me hanging on for dear life. The character development was nothing short of phenomenal. Seriously, if you love angst, get ready because the spice ignites like a bonfire! The heated banter between our main characters? Perfection. I was captivated by the dark, gritty, and utterly fascinating storyline that had me reading well into the night.
When done right, side characters can elevate a story to a whole new level, and this book nailed it. Rokath’s family and his loyal, playful friend, and second in command, Rapp, are exactly what Assyria deserves as a caring found family. They are all rich and vibrant characters, adding so much depth to the story.Â
This is part of a duet, and I was thrilled that the author confirmed the love between the main characters before moving on to book two. I can’t wait to see the havoc and vengeance Rokath and Assyria together bestow on the Angel Realm. Bring it on!
This story is a wild ride filled with unexpected twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. If you’re looking for a gripping tale filled with a vengeful war between demons and angels and a fated-mate romance with plenty of tension, you must grab this book ASAP! You won’t regret it!
