This story takes us on a lovely Australian adventure with two unlikely strangers running from their lives. One to get away from the limelight; the other to mend a broken heart.
Michael “Adam” Adams, former Olympic gold medalist swimmer and media darling is fed up with his fake marriage. After a scuffle with a reporter and honest and unkind Twitter feed about his alcoholic fake wife, he flees Canada for Australia to visit some friends. On the way, he meets a very chatty and cute, Evelyn “Evie” Blake from England, who is on vacation in Australia and offers him money to drive her to scenic parts of the country that are off the beaten path. A perfect opportunity for him to hide out from the media, but he’s finding it harder to keep his secrets from someone he is starting to care about?
“Adam” and Evie’s relationship starts slowly with Adam’s broody silence and Evie’s insecurities, but her bubbly and friendly personality surprisingly wins him over. I loved Evie’s sincerity and love for life, but I found it hard at first to like “Adam” with his uncertainty and exasperating subterfuge. However, he finally comes around with a sweet ending.
Overall, this was a nice romance with a slow build to the inevitable train wreck when the secret is revealed and the lovers need to figure out how to turn their lives around. If you like a light rom-com with adventure, give this book a try.

Italian-born Giulia Skye spent her childhood watching classic Hollywood films and thinking up her own romantic stories. After two decades working in TV production, she knew turning those stories into novels would be much more enjoyable – and far cheaper – than turning them into films.
