I have read a number of duo-author books and what Jane Henry and Sophie Lark create is a whirlwind of raw sexual tension and fast-flowing suspense that had this reader turning the pages as fast I could.
Clare Nightingale’s first day as a correctional psychologist is unforgettable as she meets the large and formidable Constantine Rogov, a convicted murderer. She attempts to get Constantine to open up, and being the good Bratva interrogator he is, he turns the tables and learns what he wants about Clare instead. Finding out her identity, Constantine devises a plan to escape prison, kidnap her, and use her as leverage to get back at the man who set him up for a murder he didn’t commit.
Clare is a sheltered rich girl who has always done what her parents have told her; look good for the cameras, go to college, don’t stand out. So her decision to work in a prison under her mother’s maiden name is a step out of her comfort zone in many ways. If only she knew the betrayal that is in store for her. Watching this brave woman rebel against everything she was brought up to be is fascinating. She’s not as stoic and meek as everyone thinks. Especially when she stands up to Constantine who is an extremely dangerous man. Constantine is a ruthless and complicated man who only sees women as a means to an end until he meets Clare. Watching her poke the bear and seeing his confusion as he tries to fight his feelings for her are so hot and delightful to watch. Don’t get me wrong, he’s no teddy bear. He’s a dominant alpha male through and through as he protects Clare and punishes her in his own sexy way. With a number of surprising twists and turns, Clare and Constantine avenge the bad guys in a very satisfying way and live happily ever after.
I recommend highly this fast-paced hot romantic suspense novel filled with kidnapping, revenge, and betrayal. You won’t be able to put it down.

I’m nothing special,” she says, bluntly.
I don’t know why she’s so intent on considering herself plain—she may not have the obvious flashiness of a certain sort of woman, but Clare’s beauty is all the more powerful for its subtlety. The delicacy and luminescence of her skin, like the slightest touch would bruise it…those large, dark eyes, so liquid that they almost seem tearful…
