The Den of Sin by Eva Winners
ABOUT THE BOOK
Vasili Nikolaev. Dangerous. Deadly. And most of all, devastating.
He’s the king of New Orleans. Ruler of the Russian mafia and my best friend’s oldest, mouthwatering brother.
On Halloween night my last year in college, I gave him everything. My body. My heart. My soul. He burned it all to the ground with the first ray of dawn.
Lessons learned. I’ve moved on. Now, five years later, I have a career I love, a boyfriend. But Vasili is back in my life again. A temptation I don’t need.
One thing is for certain. Nikolaev always settles the score. He’ll destroy everything and everyone, including my boyfriend.
The question is… What is Vasili’s end game? Will he destroy me all over again or will I be the Phoenix rising from the ashes he left behind and take what I’ve always wanted? Him.
MY REVIEW
A woman gives her trust and her body to a cruel, ruthless man who destroyed her in one night with his revenge. Now he will do anything for her forgiveness, even if it takes forever.
There is so much passion and pain between Isabella and Vasili as they work their way back to each other from a damaging and destructive beginning. Isabella is a strong and compassionate person who forgives easily but understandably guards her heart after Vasili’s betrayal. I give her kudos for unconsciously making Vasili grovel for her forgiveness. There’s nothing better than to see an aggressive and dangerous alpha male declare his love and devotion after being a complete dick to the one person who would have given him her unconditional love so many years ago. And Vasili is sincere as he proves to her in many ways how sorry he is. Not to imply Vasili is a good man. With Isabella and his family, he is, but when it comes to his empire he is ruthless and will kill without mercy.
There are so many twists and turns in this book that is heartwrenching as well as promising and I love the diverse and complex characters who made me laugh and cry with their fun banter and sad stories. I have found yet another author to add to my favorites list and look forward to reading the Belles and Mobsters series.
Thank you to Ms. Winners for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
