ABOUT THE BOOK

When a man who has everything & will do anything—including pole dancing—to redeem himself to the feisty woman who could care less about power or money.

Clover Callahan took my client’s money and I’m not going to stand for it. I’m taking her down, and if I play my cards right, she won’t even see me coming. Everything’s going exactly to plan… Until an elevator malfunction has us trapped for an entire night. Alone.

I mean, she’s hot. I’m hot. What did you expect was going to happen?

Yeah. It did. And it was spectacular.

I can admit, I was wrong about Clover—she’s all I think about. Unfortunately, after what I did, she hates me and everything I stand for. But I’m no quitter…I’ll wear her down. With a proposition even she won’t refuse:

One night.
One date.
Don’t be late!!

MY REVIEW

Holy cow! It’s love in an elevator and Steven Tyler has nothing on Clover and Joar because the chemistry is instant and off the charts.

The story is told in dual, first-person perspectives. Clover is done with rich arrogant men in suits. Her slimy husband cheated on her with her best friend after Clover gave up her acting career and her hope of a family. Her career is her top priority now and so far so good. She has found a great role to put her on track. Joar is a billionaire who buys floundering companies and turns them around, think Richard Gere in Pretty Woman. He grew up in foster care and went to college where he met his roommate and Clover’s ex, Harrison Finklestein, who screwed him over. Payback’s a bitch because Harrison’s shady deals have got him in hot water and Joar is taking his company. And, he’s positive Clover is complicit.

She’s got cold feet, and he’s all in. It’s the opposite of their normal routines so the confusion is genuine and the jumping to conclusions is a problem. But not before they meet and spend all night in a broken elevator screwing their brains out. Hawt! Unfortunately, Joar was hiding his true identity, and guess who finds out?

I love seeing a strong, confident, arrogant confirmed bachelor lose his heart and his mind over an honest, kind, and sexy woman who knows what she wants. Clover has “deep-seated trust issues” due to her past, and Joar pulls out all the stops to win her over. Enter the hate date. Joar comes up with a profile for a dating app Clover is using to propose several activities he hates, she picks the activity, and if they survive the date, they’ll have a connection. The first activity is dancing…pole dancing. LOL Of course, Joar wears Clover down and the hookups are frequent. But Clover isn’t a pushover and needs space to find herself. I love that about her. Joar has been alone as a powerful businessman for years and it’s hard for him to let loose of the reins in his personal life. What I like most is that they grow as a couple realizing their strengths and the habits and routines they need to change in order to be partners in everything.

I am delighted to recommend this fun and sexy story about a woman taking charge of her life and a romantic and supportive man who fights to win her heart, body, and soul. I can’t wait to read more by this author.

Thank you to Ms. Winter for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
