The Knights Substitute Bride

ABOUT THE BOOK

Could the wrong bride…

Be right for him after all!

For the sake of his family name, Lord Robert must marry to seal an alliance with an Irish clan. Only, the woman at the altar isn’t who he was promised! Instead, it’s her sister, Lady Mairenn! The sharp-tongued Irish beauty is as reluctant to wed as Robert, but as friction turns to fire between them, she’s further derailing Robert’s plans for this purely pragmatic arrangement…

MY REVIEW

As a reader, there’s nothing quite like getting lost in a great story. And that’s exactly what happened when I picked up this book. From start to finish, this book had me completely hooked. One of the things that stood out to me right away was the writing. It was clear, concise, and flowed beautifully. I was immediately drawn into the world the author created and felt completely immersed in the story.

In this medieval tale set in Ireland, Lady Mairenn, a strong-willed Irish beauty, is compelled to marry the cold and ruthless Lord Robert, an Anglo-Norman nobleman. Their union is intended to secure her clan’s future while allowing her sister to be with the man she loves. From the moment they meet, sparks fly between Mairenn and Robert, leading to a clash of personalities and desires. However, as they navigate their forced marriage, their undeniable chemistry and growing feelings complicate their carefully crafted plans.

One of the highlights of The Knight’s Substitute Bride is the dynamic between the spirited Mairenn and the reserved and tightly wound Robert. Their interactions are filled with banter and tension, creating a delightful push and pull that keeps readers engaged. Both characters are intricately developed and flawed, making them relatable and adding depth to the story.

Readers will find that this book offers a spicier romance adding an extra layer of intensity and passion to the story. The sensual aspect of the relationship between Mairenn and Robert is a welcome addition, heightening the emotional stakes and enhancing their connection.

For those who enjoy the allure of opposites attracting and fiercely independent heroines, The Knight’s Substitute Bride is a must-read. Melissa Oliver’s skillful storytelling and vivid historical backdrop transport readers to a captivating world where love and desire can transcend expectations. The complex and compelling characters challenge societal norms and expectations.

Thank you to Ms. Oliver for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
