MY REVIEW
Oh man, where do I even start? What would you do if you saw your face in a missing children ad? This is another book I started without any expectations, and the fast-paced action and terrifying suspense kept me glued to the pages! In the end, you will understand that there is no such thing as a coincidence.
At the heart of it all is David Brydsong, a juvenile court attorney who finds himself in a verifiable shit show after finding out he is not who he thought he was. David’s life, as he knows it, is about to spiral out of control, and it’s clear that danger is lurking around every corner. This guy is a tough nut. He’s critical, particular, and a bit of an asshole, really. He struggles to commit to his girlfriend, Gayle, and prefers to work with misfit juveniles, just like his adoptive parents did for him.
What I enjoyed about this book is how it isn’t just David’s story, it includes many characters that bring so much to the table. Gayle’s fearless spirit really stood out for me, and Violet, Gayle’s gothic friend who was stuck in the hospital with a broken leg, certainly earned her stripes for bravery and determination. And then there’s Alejandro, the good Samaritan who risks everything to do what’s right. Each of these characters adds layers of depth that kept me utterly invested in their journey.
Overall, this story is intriguing. Forget any slow buildup, this one comes in hot right from the get-go! So, if you’re itching for an exhilarating read packed with action and adventure, put this one on your list.
