Title: Glasgow Kiss: Episode One
Author: CS Duffy
How far would you go to catch a serial killer?
Haunted by the fact that he never got the chance to tell best friend Lorna that he loved her before she was murdered, Ruari sets out to track down the man he saw her with the night before she was murdered – the man police are certain was her killer.
Forensic psychologist Amy Kerr has been watching prominent Glasgow lawyer Alec McAvoy for months, certain that he is the so-called Dancing Girls Killer who evaded capture in London five years previously.
Now Ruari and Amy are closing in on the same man – but every step they take draws them deeper into the killer’s web.
I couldn’t pass up a read about a serial killer so I jumped at the chance to read Duffy’s first book in the series.
I had trouble with the beginning of the book because of the many character perspectives, and I guess I was expecting the story to be told from the police detectives’ perspective. That’s where Duffy makes it interesting by telling the story by several people trying to solve the case in their own way.
The story is full of secrets and surprises that are unexpected and to my frustration, it ends in a cliff hanger where Duffy so cleverly requires the reader to pick up the next book to find out what happens.
If you enjoy a good crime thriller series with a serial killer and many unexpected surprises, give it a try.
