Bluebell’s Christmas Magic by Marie Laval

Bluebells Christmas Magic

ABOUT THE BOOK

A gorgeous new Christmas story from the author of best selling novel Little Pink Taxi.

A flick of a feather duster and a sprinkle of Christmas magic …
Cassie Bell is used to mess. Her cleaning business, Bluebell Cleaning, is well known in the Cumbrian village of Red Moss. However, now it’s almost Christmas and Cassie has a slightly messier situation to deal with than she’s used to.

She’s been hired to help Stefan Lambert, an injured army helicopter pilot who’s staying at the local Belthorn Manor whilst he recovers. Stefan resents Cassie’s interference and is definitely not looking for Christmas cheer. But Cassie prides herself on sparkling surfaces – so, can she bring some festive sparkle to Stefan’s life too?

MY REVIEW

Tis the season and I have another fun Christmas romantic comedy for you with lots of laughs, a beautiful setting, and a bit of a mystery.

Cassie Bell is struggling to keep her business, Bluebell Cleaning, running, taking care of her 77-year-old jokester of a granddad, staving off unwanted advances from her lecherous landlord, and rescuing a hard-headed and attractive Frenchmen from himself by giving him a Christmas to remember.

Stefan Lambert came to the Cumbrian village of Red Moss to hide from the memories of his helicopter accident in Mali. All he wanted was some peace and quiet and to forget about Christmas, but a certain cheerful fairy elf with a feather duster kept intruding into his house and his thoughts. Not to mention her recklessness and trusting nature seemed to require his protection from herself.

I was immediately charmed by this book. Its plot was engaging and the winter setting sounds beautiful. Of course, I knew early on who was burglarizing the houses, but I was intrigued to find out how it would be uncovered.

The story was told very well in Cassie and Stefan’s perspectives. I have to say Cassie’s work ethic is incredible and I love her idea of leaving post-it notes with her granddad’s jokes at each house after every cleaning. I am also a fan of Joseph Bell, Cassie’s loving and happy Granddad. She definitely gets her cheerfulness from him.

I loved this sweet and mysterious Christmas story with its interesting characters and fun plot. I read it in a day because I couldn’t put it down. And by the way, this story brings new meaning to how to use a feather duster. 😉

Thank you to Ms. Laval for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
