Feather (Angels of Elysium #1) by Olivia Wildenstein
ABOUT THE BOOK
It was supposed to be a quick mission. The only thing quick about it was how rapidly I failed.
With only a month left to earn her missing feathers, nineteen-year-old Leigh embarks on a trip to Paris to meet her newest project, twenty-five-year-old Jarod Adler, leader of the Parisian Mafia and the worst kind of sinner . . . a Triple.
If Leigh can get Jarod to accomplish a single act of kindness, she stands to win 100 feathers, more than enough to complete her wings and ascend to Elysium, the land of angels.
What she doesn’t count on is Jarod’s dark charm costing her feathers.
She’s dead set on saving him, and he’s dead set on destroying her.
Until he realizes destroying her wings is also destroying her heart.
A heart he longs to hear beat only for him.
A modern Romeo and Juliet retelling featuring an epic sinner and the angel who’ll stop at nothing to save him. Perfect for fans of Nalini Singh and Becca Fitzpatrick.
MY REVIEW
I’m sobbing here! Just when I thought I had read the best great love stories, Olivia Wildenstein’s Feather comes along and my heart is ripped apart. I can’t express enough how much I love this superb and shining love story of angels and mobsters, innocence and sinfulness, and immortality and tragedy.
Rare were the Fletchings who picked Triples–sinners worth a hundred feathers. You had better luck teaching a ladybug to spirit away their spots than make a Triple atone for their sins.
Leigh is a Fletching, a young angel who hasn’t yet completed her wings, and when Asher, a Seraphim, an archangel, the highest-ranking celestial being takes an interest in her, she is determined to complete her wings to be considered one of Asher’s suitors so she can eventually become a Malakim, a soul collector and change the archaic laws of Elysium. However, in order to obtain the number of feathers needed within a month, she will have to save the soul of a Triple, the worst of the sinners, a mobster named Jarod Alder.
Jarod, Leader of La Cour des Démons (The Court of Demons or Parisian Mafia), is intrigued with the beautiful woman with fiery hair and a relentless determination to save his soul. He lost his parents at age eight which “destroyed his faith in fantastical higher beings”. However, his curiosity gets the better of him and when he gives her a day to try and save his soul, their lives will change for ever.
Ms. Wildenstein’s incredibly imaginative and creative tale about angels is captivating and entertaining. I feel I have taken an Angels 101 class that will stick with me for a long time. The story is a unique telling of Romeo and Juliet with many twists and turns, heartstopping confessions, sexual tension, and well-defined characters, good and bad.
What more can I say. Feather is one of the best love stories I have read in a very long time and there is more coming with Celestial, Book 2 in the Angels of Elysium series. What more could I ask for? Read this book!! You will love it!!
Thank you to Ms. Wildenstein for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
USA TODAY bestselling author Olivia Wildenstein grew up in New York City, the daughter of a French father with a great sense of humor, and a Swedish mother whom she speaks to at least three times a day. She chose Brown University to complete her undergraduate studies and earned a bachelor’s in comparative literature. After designing jewelry for a few years, Wildenstein traded in her tools for a laptop computer and a very comfortable chair. This line of work made more sense, considering her college degree.
