MY REVIEW

“Some men are born more animal than man. It’s just who they are, what’s running through their veins,” the old man used to say. He’d tell me that bad men don’t know they’re bad, and they usually don’t believe it when they’re told. In the eye of the beholder, the end always justifies the means. In our world, it is what it is.

Cash Kelly is a take-no-prisoners kind of animal. A rougher, tougher Robin Hood, if you may. After 10 years in prison, he’s out for revenge and screw those who get in his way. It’s time to find out what his enemy has kept locked up in that heart of his so he can steal it from him.  

Keely is savage with a bow and arrow and it’s aimed straight at Cash where his heart should be. She’s a fixer and she plans to fight for his heart because he stole her’s for vengeance.

Ms. di Corte’s way with words is so soothing and menacing at the same time. Her characters are so complex and her intricate plot lines are riddled with suspense, surprise, and danger.  Such an extraordinary trademark of this author.

I have read this series out of order and I have to admit I like Marauder best of all. It could be Keely’s kickass confidence and sass. It could be Cash’s charm and Irish lilt. It could be that I laughed a lot more while reading this book. No matter the reason, I enjoyed Cash and Keely’s struggle to never back down and admit their feelings for each other though they showed it in every action and every touch they shared. There are terrific supporting characters as well with Father Flanagan being one of my favorites.

I recommend this engaging and gripping romantic suspense novel for those who love protagonists who fight for what’s theirs, who love to skate that fine line of justice, and who love happily ever afters after a mountain of chaos.

Please check out my reviews for Machiavellian (Book 1) and Mercenary (Book 3). They can all be read as standalones, but to get the full effect of this fantastic series, I recommend you read them in order.
