Taylor Partially Matured (Sweet Water Circle #3) by Grayson Avery

Taylor Partially Matured

ABOUT THE BOOK

Twenty-seven year old Taylor Quinn rocks the three I’s. She’s immature, impulsive, and totally inappropriate. Now  that she’s been admitted to the Sweet Water Circle, a group of long-time friends now in their 30s and 40s who love to push each other to be their best selves, Taylor is tasked with growing up. God knows they have no hope of curing her inappropriate behavior. After calling for a Sweet Water Circle intervention, fellow Circle member and Taylor’s boss, Shelly, puts Taylor on the clock: figure out what she wants to do with her life or join the unemployment line. Who knew getting paid to do nothing wasn’t a long-term career option? Taylor certainly didn’t, so of course, she rebels. Why think about the future when she’s having so much fun in the present?

The pressure on Taylor intensifies when the a love match set for Shelly falls for Taylor instead. This love match is none other than Benjamin Bach (Billionaire Ben), a contemporary of the Sweet Water Circle who has since made it big in Silicon Valley. Should Taylor take Ben on as her sugar daddy or pursue her own career? Or will the Sweet Water Circle’s top-heavy nemesis, Sasha, beat her to it?

Follow Taylor on a journey of self discovery and misadventure (and total inappropriateness) in love and life. If you’ve read Project Kaitlyn or Jenn Reinvented you know that full maturity for Taylor is out of the question, but perhaps partial maturation is possible? Or maybe not. How can Taylor grow up and find her passion and still be Taylor? You’ll laugh out loud as she tries.

With hysterical antics, witty and humorous dialogue, and a strong character arc, you’ll love the follow-up to Project Kaitlyn and Jenn Reinvented. Taylor Partially Matured is the third book in the hilarious Sweet Water Circle series, exploring the relationships, life adventures, and personal growth of a small circle of friends, who you’re gonna want to hang out with, which is good, because their stories are ready to be told in the  rest of the Sweet Water Circle series!

MY REVIEW

He’s all work and no play. She’s all play and no work. He’s a nerdy billionaire. She’s rude and crude with an attitude. Can they find a middle ground?  Read this hilarious romantic comedy and find out!

Within a few days, Billionaire Benjamin Bach is propositioned for a quicky at a baby shower, a participant in an MFM threesome, and a pinkie poke that goes viral. All at the hand (literally) of party girl extraordinaire, Taylor Quinn. She’s a no-holds-barred walking slacker who doesn’t pay her bills and lives on her parent’s handouts.  Yes, she sounds like a total dead beat ditz, but she’s smart, engaging, and hilarious to the point I was laughing so hard I got some shocked stares at lunchtime.

There is no doubt Taylor is immature and irresponsible and it takes getting her heartbroken to wake her up. The Sweet Water Circle of friends is her savior and conscience as she works through the loss of the man she totally respected and loved. Being an assistant at an ad agency was not her forte, so with the help of a co-worker, she found her calling as a standup comedian.

Ben is Taylor’s stars to her moon. His steadfast and responsible nature is a good balance with her complete lack of inhibitions. Their first meeting at a baby shower didn’t go too well because he thought she was certifiable, but he was drawn to her anyway even stating “I’m attracted to you and I don’t know why”. So opposites attract and the games begin until they affect his business and he dumps her. Okay. She is partially responsible for the breakup considering she tried to get him to loosen up from working all the time and he let loose on his neighbor’s yard. (You wouldn’t believe me if I told you.)  But, Ben knew what he was doing and needed to own up to his part as well. The things he said to her were true, but his tone was brutal and uncalled for. He even fell into his Hollywood hooker girlfriend’s arms again. I think he needed to grovel big time, but she came out of it a better and more mature person as she accepts his “apology” and they ride off into the sunset together…in an RV.

I love this series. See my reviews for Project Kaitlyn (who can forget about her falling down the staircase, LOL) and Jenn Reinvented (a wife and mother in a mid-life crisis). The characters are so fun and diverse as they find their way in life. And there are even more characters to find their way such as Joe, Taylor’s heartbroken brother (that’s Jenn’s doing), and Shelly, Taylor’s boss and a mysterious single woman who apparently hasn’t had sex in many years (or has she?).  Of course, I loved meeting Kaitlyn and Hunter again and Jenn and Russ as they live happily ever after. And I adored Taylor’s mom, Gladys the Badass, and dad, Chuck.  They are everything good parents should be as they love their wild and crazy daughter unconditionally.

What more can I say, but pick up this book and I guarantee you will laugh, cringe, and cheer for Taylor as she finally grows up to be a partially mature woman who happens to get the rich dude.

Thank you to Mr. Avery for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

  1. Thanks for the review! Taylor is definitely something else…I hope you’ll keep an eye out for Sasha’s Redemption (book 4) coming out in early 2022. Just for the record, while I am in touch with my feminine side, I’m a dude!

    1. My pleasure and sorry for the faux pas. I knew that. Very funny book and I can’t wait to read Sasha’s story. That woman is a mess. LOL
