MY REVIEW
What a superb read! This is my first Marlyn Love book and she has been added to my favorite authors pile. The fire, the emotions, and the suspense are off the charts. If you like surprises, this book is full of them, and the hot sensual chemistry between two stubborn and quarrelsome lovers is delicious and enticing.
Alisha Alexandra McQueen is hiding from a psychopathic stalker who beat her after thwarting his advances. She finds refuge in a heavily secured apartment owned by her nemesis and a friend of a friend, Cole Walker, aka Grumpy or Bulldozer. There is no love loss between these two, but after Cole finds he is a father of an independent 15-year-old, he needs Alisha’s help. So a deal is made: Cole helps her feel comfortable with intimacy again after her violent attack, and in return, Alisha helps Cole with his daughter and and his overbearing mother. What could go wrong?
Cole Walker is dealing with a boatload of demons in his past and when he becomes an instant father, it adds to his stress not knowing how to take care of a hormonal teenager. So with the help of the feisty and sexy Alex McQueen (Cole calls her Alex) who calms him with a kiss and a sassy look, he discovers a peace in his life that gives him hope for a happy future. But first he must confront his past.
Alisha and Cole are a fun and volatile couple to watch. Alisha is femininity and sexiness personified. She’s sassy, sincere, and honest with her advice and her praise. It’s her backbone that helps her get through Cole’s stubborn walls he’s built up over the years. I cried when he revealed his secret to Alisha. He had given up a piece of himself when his father died and it was so beautiful when, with the encouragement from Alisha and his daughter, Samantha, he opened that part of himself up again. Cole is all possessive and goes all alpha when it comes to protecting the people he loves and he shows how deep his love is when Alisha needs him the most. I can say the same about Alisha when she also becomes a warrior in protecting Cole and Samantha. There is a lot going on in this book and I was both pleasantly surprised and shocked by the many twists and turns throughout. The author gives the reader a refreshing and satisfying happily-ever-after that gives the reader a delightful look into their beautiful future.
I do plan to read book 1 in the series so I can read about Nick and Emma’s lovely story. Their love shines through for their friends Cole and Alisha as they add to their family. I also can’t wait to read about Amanda and the elusive and mysterious Brian. It’s apparent they are attracted to each other, but Brian is holding back. Will Amanda move on, or will Brian finally man up and claim her? Samantha, Cole’s daughter, is a breath of fresh air for Cole as his staid and predictable life is thrown into chaos and responsibility. He really steps up and becomes an exceptional dad. Cole’s mother is very unlikable at first, but there is more to her story. Yes, she did some nasty things to ruin Cole’s life, but Samantha has lost too many people in her life already to have her grandmother banned from her life as well. It’s important to remember there are more sides to a story.
I highly recommend this engaging and fun love story with intrigue, forgiveness, and redemption. There is heartbreaking pasts, heart-stopping suspense, and heartwarming love. My favorite quote is “focus your attention on the people who enrich your life”.

Her debut novel, Simply Irresistible released September 10th, 2021. It’s the first book in the series. Currently, she working on books two and three and outlining book four.
She writes from her home in the Netherlands. The country of mills, tulips, and the state that has more bicycles than citizens. When her mind and body need to release energy, she loves to hit the gym for a good workout. To fuel her energy she enjoys eating a typical Dutch snack—a slice of brown bread with butter, topped with a layer of chocolate sprinkles.
