ABOUT THE BOOK

When a friend offers me a week at her family’s home in Maine for the holidays, I say ‘yes’ so fast I forget to say please. As a single mom, time to myself is impossible to come by.
I’m barely in the house when I’m mistaken for a burglar. When the lights come on, I discover the broody FBI agent who found me is Noah Tate, the off-limits older brother of my best friend from high school.
Noah was tall, dark, handsome, flirty, and popular back in high school. I kept my secret crush on him under wraps. I was above all that now. Except the chemistry burns so hot between us the air crackles with it.
We’re snowed in, so maybe we can make the best of it.
Noah & Sasha’s story is perfect for readers who love: friends to lovers, slow burn, broody FBI agents, small town gossip, emotional romance with a dash of angst, plenty of swoon and all the feels, and a protective hero who’s more than ready to prove a sassy heroine wrong.
MY REVIEW
Ms. Croix has written a heartfelt romance with an FBI agent, a protective single mom, and her sassy teenage daughter.
Sasha’s daughter, Quinn, is her whole world and she would do anything for her. Life has not been easy, but she has made sure their lives are happy and filled with love. When Sasha has a surprising encounter with the older brother of her best friend, she realizes being snowed in with her high school crush may not be too bad since their chemistry is on fire. After all, they will be going home after the holidays and will probably never see each other again. Never say never.
Noah is a workaholic and has not had time for relationships…until he meets Sasha. What started as a holiday fling, morphed into much more when he couldn’t stay away from her. Luckily, he found out they only lived a few blocks from each other. Now he has to break down her walls and prove that he’s serious about her and her daughter.
I loved the chemistry between Sasha and Noah. Noah had his work cut out for him because he not only had to convince Sasha but her feisty teenage daughter and boy, he passes with flying colors. Noah has a way with kids considering he babysits his nieces and nephews. He also knows how to communicate with a challenging teenager who has the tendency to make him blush about his intentions toward her mom. Sasha wants to be the responsible one for her daughter’s sake, but she’s falling for Noah as he charms his way into her life. There are some yummy sex scenes between Sasha and Noah that had me wiping my brow. And I guess I was expecting some suspense in this story, and it looked like there might be with Sasha’s deadbeat ex, but to my disappointment, it fizzled out. Perhaps it could have been an additional plot twist that would have added to the romance. However, I really enjoyed the family aspect with Quinn’s sassy quips and intelligent comebacks. I wish I could have been that kind of teenager. I also adored Sasha’s nosy, but perceptive next-door neighbor. She had some sage advice that helped snap Sasha out of her doubts. Of course, Noah’s brothers were also very supportive and understanding of what their brother needed to give him a push toward happiness in his life.
If you adore captivating romances with an angsty teenager thrown into the mix, give this book a try. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.
Thank you to Ms. Croix for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
