Big Book Boss (Such a Boss #1) by Jessika Klide
ABOUT THE BOOK
He’s the beefcake from the bar. A billionaire book mogul. And the biggest dick of all time, literally and figuratively speaking!
Sebastian King, CEO of Precious Kitty Publishing, runs the sixth-largest publishing house, catering to females, not felines, with the biggest romance book market in the world. He’s blatantly bold. He’s brutally blunt. And the most beautiful bachelor on the planet.
My job: I’m his personal assistant. The buffer between the Big Book Boss and his entire workforce. I herd his cats, so to speak.
His requirements: I live with him on billionaire row in Manhattan with floor-to-ceiling windows looking down on New York City’s skyline.
His justification: My security is paramount to his, and I’m to be available around the clock, 24/7.
My goal: Do my job. Don’t do him –again. Play the part, but protect my heart.
Yet the more I learn about him, the more I see he’s trapped by his success. We may be from different social circles, but we both put pants on one leg at a time. We laugh at the same things. And Precious Kitty loves us both. This man buried by the burden of his business could just be my one true love. And even though oil and vinegar don’t mix, they do go together. You have to shake the dressing bottle —vigorously.
MY REVIEW
This is my second Jessika Klide book and she delivers a romantic comedy with a lonely billionaire and a vivacious personal assistant who make a sexy hot team.
Samaera “Sam” Mathieson gives it her all in winning the $2,000 karaoke contest so she can pay her rent. She’s just lost her job and the liquid courage the gorgeous man at the bar provided her helped seal the win. But that’s not the only thing she scored. It happens that the man has more than a sexy dimple and a devilish grin. He’s got bodyguards, a penthouse, and a generous package for a one-night stand. Who knew they would meet again?
Sebastian King is the CEO of Precious Kitty Publishing. He’s a lonely billionaire with only his bodyguards as his true friends. He’s dealing with some issues at work and needs a new personal assistant, stat! Enter the sassy and beautiful woman who took his breath away at the karaoke bar. She’s got his back at work and his heart forever. Now he has to convince her of that.
Sam was raised with four brothers and knows how to be strong, fearless, and very loyal to her new job and her incredible boss, Bastian. Sam is awesome. She is mother-approved, employee-approved, and pet-approved. Her methods of improving Bastian’s business and dealing with the office bully are brilliant. Sebastian is gob-smacked by the adorably funny Southern charmer who steals his heart in the wink of an eye. He appreciates a smart, strong, independent woman and is savvy enough to give Sam free rein to take over as his personal assistant. Bastian is handsome, sharp, and sweet. He loves to hold Sam’s hand and he adopted a stray kitten and named her Precious Kitty. I loved the chemistry between Sam and Bastian and I liked the fact that Bastian was sensitive to Sam’s needs and wasn’t a typical alpha male like most billionaires are portrayed. However, I was disappointed and disgruntled with the ending which was abrupt and tacky.
If you enjoy fun, LOL romantic comedies with bold, confident women and charming, perceptive men, give this book a try.
Thank you to Ms. Klide for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
