MY REVIEW
The figure of Death has always been shrouded in mystery and fear. But what if Death could fall in love? What if the grim reaper himself could find his soulmate? Reaper of Chaos is a tale that explores the boundaries between life and death, love and obsession, and immortal and mortal.
The story begins with Thanatos, the Greek god of death and ruler of the Underworld, returning to the mortal world after a long absence. But upon his return to the city of Halcyon, he encounters Lira, a professor of Thanatology, the study of death and dying, and princess of the Underworld. What makes Lira unique is her ability to see souls, including Thanatos himself, who is invisible to most mortals.
Thanatos finds himself drawn to Lira’s intellect, compassion, and beauty. For the first time in centuries, he feels something akin to human emotion, a spark of curiosity and desire. As they begin to spend time together, Lira also becomes fascinated by Thanatos with his sexy smirk, his possessiveness, and his adorable awkwardness in courting his soulmate.
I was absolutely captivated by this unique and thought-provoking storyline. Thanatos’s fascination with the woman who studies death is a refreshing change from the typical portrayal of death as a cold and distant figure. The fact that he is willing to risk everything, including his own existence, for the chance to be with her is a testament to the power of love and the lengths we will go to be with the ones we care about.
The choice that Thanatos and Lira must make is a difficult one. On the one hand, they have each other, a love that has the power to transcend even death itself. On the other hand, they have the responsibility to ensure that the natural order of things is maintained.Ā
I highly recommend this gripping story of soul-walking goddesses and Death with a heart. The characters are intriguing and the storyline is engaging from start to finish. I can’t wait to see what adventures await the goddesses and their husbands in the next installment of the series.Ā

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
C.D. Britt began her writing journey when her husband told her she needed to use her excessive imagination to write stories as opposed to creating a daily narrative for him. Ever since she penned her first words, life has been a lot more peaceful for him.
She currently resides in Texas where she has yet to adapt to the heat. Her husband thrives in it, so unfortunately, they will not be relocating to colder climates anytime soon.
Their two young children would honestly complain either way.
When she is not in her writing cave (hiding from the sun), she enjoys ignoring the world as much as her children will allow with a good book, music, and vast amounts of coffee (until itās time for wine).
C.D. Britt is the author of Shadows & Vines, Sirens & Leviathans, and the upcoming book, Storms & Embers.
All three books are part of the Reign of Goddesses series.
