Alien’s Mate (Earth Brides & Alien Warriors #2) by Tina Moss

ABOUT THE BOOK

I know how to fix broken things. I’m one of Earth’s top engineers. But a sexy Rhonar warrior with a scarred past? That may be a challenge even for me.

An explosion on the moonbase has me careening into space. If it weren’t for the hot alien pilot Brokdar, I’d still be floating amongst the debris. But now, we’ve been sucked through a wormhole to an unknown planet.

We’ll have to rely on each other to survive. But with his barred emotions and tight-lipped demeanor, I don’t know how to break down his walls—even if the chemistry between us is set to ignite.

If we don’t work together, we’ll never make it off this remote rock.

I need to get home. My sister and best friend were caught in the blast. I don’t even know if they made it out alive. I have to know.

And if I don’t make it back, no one will warn the Rhonar about the looming threat. Will the alliance between the alien warriors and Earth break before it’s even begun? And if it does, how will I ever be with this alien who’s slowly stealing my heart?

Only the stars know.

MY REVIEW

I picked this book up because I was intrigued by a capable woman engineer meeting a domineering alien. However, the story just did not flow for me.

Sage is an engineer who is a strong small curvy Earthling but has some insecurities when it comes to relationships. She’s reckless and impulsive which gets her in some harrowing experiences and almost gets her mate, Brok, killed. However, she’s doing it because she’s not one to sit back and watch as her alien man does all the work.

Brok is a Rhonar warrior who has finally found his mate, Sage, and wants to protect her. He is broody due to an abusive and tragic past, but he opens up slowly as Sage fills the void in his hearts (yeah, he has more than one).  And, as every alien does, he has some other interesting anatomy parts fit for a lucky mate.

I liked the characters and the sex scenes were okay, but I felt the whole BDSM thing didn’t fit in an alien setting. And, though I really wanted to like the story, unfortunately, I just couldn’t get into the weird otter aliens.

I don’t hate the story and I do think people will like it, but I just found it unoriginal and overdone.

Thank you to Ms. Moss for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
