But can their fledgling romance survive the glare of the spotlight and the ghost of masquerades past?
The plot thickens like a good protein shake when Carlie has her ‘aha!’ moment. That mysterious, dreamy guy from the club? Yup, it’s Mr. Six-Pack himself. Now, the question isn’t just about enduring a tough gym session, but whether they can flex their hearts into accepting that their one-night stand might just be the real deal.
MY REVIEW
My favorite romances are funny and smart and this one has an intriguing meet greet plot with a delightful love story.
Carlie’s awkwardness and great sense of humor and Adam’s calm and encouraging nature are a great combo. Their playful banter and honest discourse are refreshing. However, they are both vulnerable from bad relationships and have the fear of messing up a good thing. Don’t worry. Love prevails.
I enjoyed watching Carlie and Adam become more confident and empowered in each other’s company. Happiness is a place of being rather than doing and once they embrace who they are, they can do anything. Adam is such a genuine guy and his Zen gym is a great idea, and Carlie is a klutzy, down-to-earth erotic romance writer who starts to open up and conquer her fears. Her final confrontation with Adam’s vindictive ex is priceless.
Both protagonists have great friends and family who are supportive and very funny. Carlie’s grandmother is a hoot with her inappropriate sex talk and Adam’s brother, Brian, and best friend Dylan keep Adam on his toes.
I highly recommend this fun read with an intriguing plot and compelling characters. I can’t wait to read the rest in this series.
