It turns out he gives as good as he gets.

MY REVIEW
Good heavens! My heart! From Air swept me off my feet with hilarious comebacks, tragic fate, and unbounded love. From the moment you open the cover, you’re introduced to characters who become immediate companions despite their flaws and struggles. It’s an unforgettable, heartfelt journey with some gut-wrenching surprises in store.
Jaymes “Jamie” Andrews is a traveling nurse with a huge heart. Her new job brings her to Missoula, Montana, where she shares a house with three roommates: Will, the player; Maren, the spitfire; and Fitz, the grumpy jerk and her new pet project. He’s hiding some deep-seated feelings that Jamie wants to explore because she’s a fixer. But Fitz isn’t having it. Some things are beyond repair.
Calvin “Fitz” Fitzgerald is a smoke jumper defined by his traumatic and heartbreaking past that shaped into the person he is today. His emotional baggage leads him to his go-to defense mechanisms of snarky comments and sarcasm and putting up walls when he feels threatened or vulnerable. Yet, beneath the tough exterior lies a heart that craves connection, love, and understanding, and the beautiful, kind Jaymes Andrews can satisfy all his cravings, but at what cost?
From the start, sparks fly between Jamie and Fitz as they use humor to hide their attraction and use friendship to hide anything more. I love Jamie’s drive and selfless compassion as she waits for Fitz to master his feelings. Fitz is distant, and when he realizes his love for Jamie, it is incredibly romantic and painful as it overwhelms him. Fitz loves fiercely, and it’s beautiful to see.
This story wouldn’t be complete without Jamie and Fitz’s wonderful friends, who provide love, support, and some hard truths. Their bonds add layers to a finely crafted plot, and I hope to read more about them in the series.
Jewell E. Ann’s writing is superb. She has memorable characters and an incredible storyline. Ann masterfully manipulated my emotions from start to finish by making me laugh out loud one minute and reducing me to tears the next. Genius!
I highly recommend From Air by Jewell E. Ann. She connects with readers on a deeply personal level. The clever banter balances out the heart-wrenching grief and traumatic loss. It’s a beautiful story that should be experienced fully and embraced wholeheartedly. Pick it up, you won’t be disappointed.
Thank you to Ms. Ann for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
