ABOUT THE BOOK
The North name is a heavy burden. Two things I learned young—the best way to keep my head on is to keep my head down, and… never fall in love. But I’m a sucker for a damsel in distress.
Lillian came into my life swinging. Mistaking me for my abusive twin brother, she greets me with a swift kick to the balls and a busted lip. Then she really shakes up my world.
She needs her job, but she needs a break just as much. And nothing silences my demons as efficiently as playing the hero.
To protect her from my jerk twin—her boss—I take her on a business trip and quickly learn that she’s different. Blunt. Honest. Intriguingly strange. I’m transfixed, so when she unknowingly sinks a multimillion-dollar deal, I don’t speak up. Something my family won’t forgive.
Now, I have a choice to make. I can go against my own blood and burn the North legacy to the ground, or play it safe, commit to my self-imposed rules and predestined future. Choosing her would ruin my life as I know it, but I’m starting to wonder if a life without her is worth living.
MY REVIEW
I couldn’t wait to dive into Book 3 of The North Brothers series, featuring Hudson and Lillian. He has a savior complex, and she has a complex mind. Together, they will conquer the North oligarchy.
So, let’s talk about the “meet cute” because it’s too good not to share. It all “kicks off” with a case of mistaken identity and a hilariously unfortunate kick in the balls! Lillian Gillingham, a total badass in her own right, is fed up with her tyrannical boss, Hayes “Hade” North. She’s got a job in the legal department at North Industries thanks to a friend, but her days there feel numbered as she’s thrust into an awkward scenario with Hayes’ twin brother, Hudson, who just happens to be the total opposite of his nasty sibling… or is he?
I love Lillian’s quirky mindset. She’s honest, ballsy, and wicked smart when it comes to creative thinking. She was always taught that actions have consequences, especially the impulsive ones, and going on a trip with a North was a big mistake. The attraction brewing between her and Hudson complicates everything, especially when the trip turns out to be a disaster on a professional level, and Lillian finds herself tossed aside after losing her job.
Hudson North is Hayes’ “refreshing” twin brother. He’s controlled, charming, respectful, and is a sucker for charity cases. The more he unravels the mystery that is Lillian Gillingham, the more interested he becomes. Their relationship starts off effortlessly and fun, but oh boy, is it a bit forbidden (in his mind). Hudson’s a guy who typically sticks to boundaries, but Lillian has a knack for making him bend the rules. Once he finally steps up for her, I was all in! I loved watching him grow as he chose to stand by her side.
The chemistry between Hudson and Lillian is electric, and the “no panties” incident, followed by that dry hump against the tree, was unforgettable. These moments lead to a series of life-changing events for both characters. And let’s not forget about the sweet revenge on the patriarch of North Industries. Seeing them work together in that scheme was the cherry on top.
It’s always a treat to reconnect with characters from previous books, like Hudson’s brothers, Alex and Kingston, and their wonderful partners, Jordan and Gabriella. Their support for Lillian was heartwarming. And then there’s Hayes North, the epitome of an evil twin, pompous, misogynistic, and just plain insufferable. Ms. Salsbury has done an incredible job keeping us on our toes with Hayes’ story, and I can’t wait to meet the fierce woman who will finally put him in his place. Expect a surprise ending in this book that’s bound to set the stage for what’s next in that saga.
I highly recommend you grab your copy and submerge yourself in this engaging story filled with angst, laughter, and sweet revenge. There’s nothing better than watching a good guy go bad!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
When I published my first book I didn’t intend to write more than the one. If I could sell six books to six people I didn’t know I considered myself a success. But that first book sold well over six copies and I knew I couldn’t stop there.
I was bitten by the writing bug and have poured my soul into every novel I’ve penned since. Some of my books have become USA Today Bestsellers, New York Times Bestsellers, and Fighting to Forgive won a RONE Award. I couldn’t be more proud of where my writing has taken me.
I live in Phoenix with my husband and two daughters where I’m lucky to be able to do something I love and still be home to juggle carpool, field trips, and fifth-grade homework.
When I’m not writing, reading, or spending time with my family I can be found on any of the local mountain trails hiking, or at the gym when the desert temps become unbearable. I love being outside, beach vacations, and spending time with friends.
