MY REVIEW
A.L. Jackson’s first book is a great start to the Crimson Crows Series. It takes us on a wild ride as two broken souls navigate love, pain, and danger.

Silas is the brooding president of the Crimson Crows Motorcycle Club. He embodies the tortured hero trope to perfection. He’s done his best to shield those he loves from the darkness he’s been entangled in, but life hasn’t been kind to him. The guilt of his past decisions looms over him, and he’s resigned himself to a life of loneliness. But then enters Brinley Webber, a fierce woman caught in the crosshairs of her brother’s misdeeds. For Silas, she’s a distraction he never asked for but one he can’t resist. As he fights against his feelings, their chemistry is something that neither of them expected.
Brinley is just as compelling. She’s tough, resilient, and fighting tooth and nail to keep her life on track while trying to rein in her brother’s reckless behavior. Landing in the midst of the Crimson Crows, she finds herself faced with danger and feelings for a man she knows she shouldn’t want. Silas awakens a part of her that she thought she would never get back, and honestly, I loved watching her fight for what she wants. The back-and-forth tension created between these two was so palpable, and I was rooting for them from the get-go.
While the emotional depth and tension between Silas and Brinley are beautifully crafted, there were a few moments when the dialogue felt a little over the top, specifically during sex scenes. I mean, who talks that much during sex? That said, Jackson’s storytelling is gripping enough to keep you on the edge of your seat, and the stakes just keep getting higher.
As always, Jackson does an amazing job of intertwining the main characters’ personal growth with the central plot of vengeance and redemption. Silas is out for blood against his family’s enemy, and Brinley is finding out what home really means. The twists and turns A.L. Jackson throws in keep the story fresh and engaging, while resonating with hope.
My heart belonged to Silas’s family, Grandma Meems, Elena, and adorable little Kai. I loved that they fully embraced Brinley, making her feel at home in a way she’d never experienced before. As for Brinley’s brother, Dereck, he may surprise you.
If you’re in the mood for an intense love story wrapped in danger and redemption, add this one to your TBR list. Get ready for heartbreak, hope, and a journey that will make you believe in fate. Elena and Trevan, here I come!
