The only way to hunt down a killer is to become one…

After two long years spent in a secret British prison, Nadia Laksheva is suddenly granted her freedom. Yet there is a dangerous price to pay for her release: she must retrieve the Russian nuclear warhead stolen by her deadliest enemy, a powerful and ruthless terrorist known only as The Client.

But her mysterious nemesis is always one step ahead and the clock is ticking. In 37 hours, the warhead will explode, reducing the city of London to a pile of ash. Only this time, Nadia is prepared to pull the trigger at any cost…

The deadly trail will take her from crowded Moscow to the silent streets of Chernobyl, but will Nadia find what she is looking for before the clock hits zero?

The gripping second novel in J.F. Kirwan’s brilliant spy thriller series. Perfect for fans of Charles Cumming, Mark Dawson and Adam Brookes.

MY REVIEW

Prison changed her.

The second in the Nadia Laksheva series, 37 Hours begins with Nadia languishing in a prison for two years after killing two people responsible for bringing the world to the brink of a nuclear war.

When another nuclear threat surfaces, Nadia and her British counterpart and lover, Jake, become involved in a dangerous plot to blow up London masterminded by the elusive Salamander; the same man who has Nadia and Jake on his hit list.  Little did Nadia know that a key person from her past would return from the dead to help her understand Salamander’s psyche so she can be prepared for the carnage to come.

This spy novel will take you to the Barents Sea, to the South China Sea, to Chernobyl and to London.  You will enjoy an incredible journey amid Russian nuclear subs, man-eating sharks, nuclear fallout and London underground tunnels.   It’s yet another mind-blowing read from J.F. Kirwan leaving this reviewer wanting more of Nadia’s story.  If you like fast-paced spy thrillers set in exotic lands with fascinating, well-developed characters, pick up this series and begin an endless journey of action-packed excitement.
