ABOUT THE BOOK

Some things you can’t forget.

A body hanging from the infamous History Tree unraveled their teenage love. Now Maura Antrim is again tangled up with Brock McGovern. Twelve years later, they’re back where that murder occurred—where Brock had been arrested and then released, where Maura had run, too scared to stand by his side.

But with two women missing, and Brock now an FBI agent, Maura is determined to help. Together, they’ll have to confront a threat that never died and see if their passion has withstood the test of time.

MY REVIEW

I have enjoyed a number of Heather Graham’s books and I found this story below her usual standards.

The book seemed patched together and it was more about Florida history with a lot of characters that weren’t interesting to me. The romance and mystery seemed more of an afterthought. Brock and Maura didn’t have much chemistry between them at first, and then all of a sudden they end up in bed together.

In addition, the climax of solving the mystery seemed rushed and farfetched. There were several details about the kidnappings and murders that just didn’t make sense to me which I do not want to spoil here.

Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this book.

I want to thank Ms. Graham, Harlequin Books, and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to review this book with no expectation to a positive review.
