Always and Forever at Glendale Hall (Glendale Hall #4) by Victoria Walters

Always and Forever at Glendale Hall

ABOUT THE BOOK

What if we’re all just searching for something?

Anna Stewart is lost. After barely surviving a car accident as a teenager, Anna is scared of settling. Flitting between jobs, boyfriends and homes whenever she gets bored, she has no idea what the future holds. Then her brother Brodie, minister of Glendale, suggests she moves to the beautiful Scottish village, lining up a housekeeper job for her at Glendale Hall.

Out of options, Anna agrees to the move, knowing that she can always run away again. Once at the hall, her culinary skills impress everyone, and she agrees to give Hilltop Farm’s new manager, Cameron, cooking lessons. Sparks fly between Anna and the handsome Scot, but Cameron is looking for love – something that Anna definitely isn’t.

But it’s wedding season at Glendale Hall, and Anna is about to discover that her new home has a way of working its magic on even the coldest of hearts. Will she really be able to just walk away, or could Anna have finally found a place to belong?

It’s summertime in the beautiful Highlands village of Glendale – pack your bags and come on holiday with this gorgeously uplifting, romantic read. Fans of Milly Johnson, Heidi Swain and Holly Martin will love this charming romcom.

I was introduced to the lovely village of Glendale and its unforgettable characters in New Beginnings at Glendale Hall. Imagine my delight when I got to visit again while following the story of the feisty and stubborn Anna Stewart, sister to Brodie, the local minister. She’s an independent, unruly city girl in a remote Highland village. What could go wrong?

Anna was given a second chance at living after a car accident twelve years ago. A second chance she felt guilty about as she distanced herself from her family. After losing another job due to her recklessness, her brother convinces her to get a summer job at Glendale Hall. Reluctantly, she accepts the offer and slowly falls in love with the place, the people, and a quiet farmer named Cameron. She eventually finds her purpose and peace while cooking meals for the friendly residents and the longer she stays the more her family and friends want her to stay, but she needs to do it on her own terms and not because her new friends and family think it’s best for her. Is Glendale the answer to her happiness?

Anna is a free spirit. A loner who is honest, fearless, and beautiful. But she is tired. Tired of running. Tired of not having someone to talk to. Just once she wants to have what everyone else finds so easy. When she discovers her guilt and fear were misguided, she starts to think she can change the direction of her life and maybe help Cameron who has the same misguided guilt issues over the death of this girlfriend. Anna and Cameron are an unconventional couple with her outspokenness and his quiet charm. They bring the best out of each other. But after Cameron unintentionally makes a faux pas, Anna runs away to London soon realizing she left a piece of her heart in Glendale. Though she will always want to live on her own terms, she comes back to a place she calls home.

Anna receives wonderful advice from Beth, Heather, and Emily who have had their own tragedies and setbacks along the way and who have found peace and happiness in Glendale.  Glendale and its lovely residents are very hard to walk away from. Who could resist a competitive and boisterous quiz night at the pub, a joint hen and stag murder mystery weekend in a castle, and just sitting around the dinner table with an entertaining and interesting group of people who care about you and accept who you are?

I’m so glad I visited Glendale again. This charming book inspires you to follow your heart and follow your dreams, and I promise Glendale will work its magic on you.

Thank you to Ms. Walters for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
