MY REVIEW
The highly anticipated follow-up to the thrilling novel Shatterproof has finally arrived, and it does not disappoint. This new book is packed with even more excitement, action, and suspense than its predecessor, and I couldn’t put it down.
In book 2 of the duology, Slater and his team are trying to figure out who would dare to hurt Arley and why. As they gather more clues, they realize that the situation is much more complicated than they initially thought. With the help of their friends, they dive deeper into the case, uncovering surprising twists and turns that kept this reader on the edge of her seat.
Slater’s job is to keep Arley safe from kidnappers and assassins. But their relationship complicates things, adding a layer of personal feelings that could make or break the mission. It’s beautiful watching Slater’s devotion and protectiveness of Arley. The man is an exceptional swoon-worthy book boyfriend, and Arley’s sassiness and brilliant mind are a great match to Slater’s alpha tendencies.
What I find particularly endearing about Slater and Arley is the way they interact with each other. Despite their occasional bouts of jealousy and craziness, they maintain a teasing and lighthearted dynamic that had me chuckling throughout their conversation.
In addition, Ms. Neal manages to balance the sexy scenes with genuine emotional depth. It’s not just about two people hooking up; there’s a real sense of vulnerability and intimacy that makes their relationship feel genuine and meaningful.
The writing in this book is superb, and the pacing is perfect. The plot is complex, but the author does an excellent job of keeping the reader engaged and interested. The characters are well-developed, and their emotions and motivations are believable.
Overall, I highly recommend this duet to anyone who loves action-packed romance with LOL mischief and sizzling sex scenes. The story is well-written, the characters are relatable, and the pacing is spot-on. You won’t be disappointed!
