MY REVIEW
Playing hard to get has never been so fun and satisfying to watch. Things come easy to Macon Shade, but not to Brooklyn Bray. He takes things for granted and she’s grateful to have a roof over her head.
Macon is a cocky alpha-hole playboy who finds himself wanting more than a fling with Brooklyn. He is used to getting what he wants and is desperate to prove to Brooklyn that he’s worth taking a chance on, but his work is cut out for him.
Brooklyn is a strong-willed woman who knows what she wants out of life and I respect the hell out of her. She’s not about to let some cocky, charming billionaire distract her from her dreams. He is a distraction she does not need right now. The only thing they have in common is mind-blowing sex and that isn’t enough. Not to mention he is leaving in a few months.
The dynamic between Macon and Brooklyn is fascinating to watch. They are both flawed characters, with their own insecurities and fears. But together, they bring out the best in each other. Macon learns to be more considerate and selfless, while Brooklyn learns to let her guard down and enjoy life a little more.
This story is incredibly sexy with a man obsessed. The characters are intriguing and the banter is excellent. It’s a great start to a new series and I can’t wait to read more.
