MY REVIEW
This story pleasantly surprised me with its complex characters and moving narrative.
Callan is a former Marine with a troubled past. He suffers from PTSD, and as a result, he doesn’t talk much and keeps his feelings to himself. On the other hand, Meridian, his new neighbor is always looking for the positive in everything and loves to share her feelings..
When Callan and Meridian first meet, they don’t get along. But as they get to know each other, their relationship becomes beautiful, raw, and real. The author does an excellent job of portraying Callan’s internal conflict, his PTSD, and the struggles he faces.
The story is not just about physical attraction, but also emotional connection. The author perfectly balances the two, making their relationship feel genuine. Callan and Meridian’s banter is hilarious, and their chemistry is undeniable.
What I love most about this book is that it doesn’t sugarcoat anything. The author portrays the characters as flawed individuals with their own set of problems. It’s a refreshing change from the typical romance novels that often feel too perfect and unrealistic.
Losing My Breath is a must-read for anyone who loves romance novels with depth and complexity. The author does an excellent job of portraying the realities of emotional trauma. The main characters are well-written and relatable, and their relationship is beautiful and real. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a refreshing take on the contemporary romance genre.
