Behind closed doors, there’s no need to pretend their marriage is real. But every day, his wife surprises him. Cameron yearns to uncover the woman she hides behind the mask Every night, her husband unravels her and Violet begins to crave more of her husband.
What started as an agreement, is turning into something none of them saw coming.
MY REVIEW
And I’m late to another series yet again. However, this one can be read as a standalone.
Cameron McNamara, the current Mayor of Boston, is a man of power and influence. He is a member of the Syndicate and the political game is his forte. However, to gain more political power, he agrees to an arranged marriage with Violet Campbell, a woman he has never met before. Cameron doesn’t want a wife, but he knows that this marriage will help him achieve his political goals.
Violet Campbell is a gamer and a woman who has lived in seclusion for years due to her numerous phobias. Her father, however, disrupts her peace and insists that she marry the Boston mayor for his own gain. When Violet meets Cameron, she is taken aback by his arrogance, his coldness, and his lack of personal space.
Cameron and Violet are both complex characters, with their own fears, hopes, and dreams. Cameron pushes all of Violet’s buttons for her to finally live and Violet surprises Cameron with her direct and difficult questions getting him to open up about his tragic past. Violet’s character is portrayed so realistically that it breaks my heart several times throughout the book. However, it was also inspiring to see how she transforms into a strong and independent woman, thanks to Cameron and his family. Cameron’s sad background taught him that love comes at a price and Violet chooses to love him without asking for anything in return. It’s a battle of wills with passionate deals ending in a HEA.
The author does an excellent job of portraying the protagonists’ struggles and their growth throughout the story. The reader can’t help but root for them as they face their challenges and overcome their obstacles.
The supporting characters from the previous books are essential to this story as they support Cameron and Violet and are wonderful role models for true love and strong marriages.
If you are looking for a well-written, engaging story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, Sinner’s Salvation, is a good choice. I cannot wait to read more of this series.
