ABOUT THE BOOK
Being a single parent to a teenage daughter will be a walk in the park… said no dad ever! I’m a fireman and at the station four days a week. I barely have time to grab a beer with my friends. On my days off I’m too busy being the protective dad while trying not to be Jordan’s worst enemy. However, it’s the ultimatum she needs to worry about for skipping class, suspension or help at Hope Haven, a place where families stay while their hospitalized child receives the best care.
It’s where I run into Brooke Tennyson. I had no idea she was back in town and is working at Hope Haven. Sure, Brooke is beautiful, a single parent, and we have so much in common, but I don’t have time to get involved with another woman. It’s bad enough I can’t get her off my mind, can’t stop fantasizing about her. Brooke makes me feel alive again. But I feel like I’m cheating on my late wife and my daughter will be disappointed with me.
If giving up on love is what I need to do to keep my daughter happy, it’s what I must do.
MY REVIEW
This is book 11 in an anthology of short stories written by different authors. Ms. Fernandez’s is a story about two best friends who had secret crushes on each other in high school but never acted on them. They went their separate ways and lived their lives until fate brought them together again years later.
Bishop is a widower and a single dad to a rebellious 15-year-old daughter named Jordan. His wife passed away four years ago, and since then, he hasn’t been able to move on. His friends think it’s time for him to start dating again, but Bishop is not ready. He is still mourning the loss of his wife and is focused on raising his daughter. Bishop is a good father who is dedicated to his daughter, but he has trouble communicating with her. Jordan’s latest misstep leaves him at a loss, and he doesn’t know how to handle it. His sister Elsa is there to help him, but she has her own life.
Brooklyn is a single mom to a five-year-old son. She recently left her cheating ex and moved back to her hometown. Brooklyn is sweet, and she strikes up a good rapport with Jordan, not knowing that she is Bishop’s daughter at first. I appreciated Brooklyn’s warning to her ex telling him to man up and reveal to his son why he won’t be around much.
The story is interesting, and the characters are likable. The plot moves along at a fast pace with Brooklyn and Bishop’s attraction still strong as they act on it, but just when it is getting good, it ends abruptly in a cliffhanger. This left me feeling unsatisfied, but it also means that there is a sequel to look forward to.
If you enjoy a quick read about unrequited love between friends, then this book might be for you. It is a heartwarming story about second chances and finding love when you least expect it. Bishop and Brooklyn’s story is relatable, and their struggles will tug at your heartstrings. Give it a chance, and you might find yourself rooting for them to finally get together.
Thank you to Ms. Hernandez for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Michelle Fernandez lives in Southern California with her husband, children, and two pups. When she’s not writing, she’s laughing it up with friends and family or simply relaxing!
Contemporary Romance, Romance Suspense and Military Romance are her most favorite genres, and loves happily ever afters… who doesn’t? Which is why she started writing in the first place. It started as a hobby. One chapter turned into ten, then a novel was born.
Till I Found You is her first novel. The damsel heroine and the alpha gentleman hero are whom she loves to write about. Making up worlds and characters for readers to fall in love with, is the most rewarding for her.
She hopes that her words give the reader all the ‘feels’ as it does for her when she writes about them and makes them as authentic as she possibly can.
