ABOUT THE BOOK
Headstrong, homebody farmer plus freedom-loving hippie chick equals the worst match ever, but their blazing chemistry is unstoppable.
Jesse Del Toro struggles to keep his organic farm afloat—hard enough without the delicious, dangerous distraction of Gemma’s return to Trappers Cove. The bewitching vagabond will never settle down in the quirky little beach town he calls home. But once ignited, their fiery attraction sets them on a collision course that could wreck him.
Nursing a wounded heart, Gemma Moore hopes a spell in her Aunt Zora’s metaphysical shop will soothe her stormy emotions. But from the moment Jesse walks in, calm is a lost cause. The hunky farmer is frustrating, stubborn, and oh so tempting. One hot night reveals his hidden side—sweet, sensual, and determined to make her his.
When a harmless secret backfires, Gemma discovers just how deeply she’s wounded the beautiful bull man, and how desperately she wants to keep him.
MY REVIEW
Holy cats! A gorgeous herb farmer extremely dedicated to keeping the beautiful free spirit close to home. And boy, does he pull out the stops. Yum!
I adore Jesse Del Toro. He’s all in when it comes to pursuing the “woo woo hippie hottie”. His romantic dinners and thoughtful gestures, not to mention his sensual seduction is number one in my book. However, his past relationship has him doubting his methods considering that the good ones always leave and Gemma Moore is a vagabond ready to travel at a moment’s notice.
Gemma loves visiting her adorable aunties and what better place to get her bearings again than in the enchanting Trappers Cove where she used to spend her summers growing up? I admire her independence and her easy way with people as she uses her innate ability to read people and their palms. An ability that a non-believer like Jesse Del Toro frowns upon. Their attraction is off the charts as Gemma’s impatience and Jesse’s slow and steady approach make for an unforgettable and sexy combination. Her intuition is telling her to give their relationship a try, but will her uninhibited ways drive this sweet, passionate man away?
Stone’s writing is engaging and heartwarming, and the characters are both likable and relatable. Even though it’s a short story, it packs a powerful punch and left me feeling satisfied with the ending. I also wouldn’t mind getting some of the delicious recipes Jesse creates.
If you are captivated by unlikely love stories and enjoy reading about characters who are not afraid to be themselves, then Passion in the Cards is a must-read. It is a heartwarming and delightful book that will leave you feeling satisfied and happy. I can’t wait to read more books in this series.
Thank you to Ms. Stone for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
