MY REVIEW
This prequel took me back three years ago when I met Tess and Q in Tears of Tess. I strongly recommend you begin with the Monsters in the Dark series to fully immerse yourself in the complex, triggering, yet captivating love story between two broken souls.
The Mercer Curse is a new chapter in Q’s life as he meets his half brother Henri who is a beautifully monstrous replica of Q. My heart breaks for Henri who is so alone and afraid of what he will become if he doesn’t get help.
I’m sure Ms. Winters has a wealth of shocking twists and turns in store in this new series. The interactions between Q and Henri promise to be volatile, fraught with tension and conflict, and Tess playing a crucial role in mediating the relationship.
This is a great introduction for what is in store for Henri and his demons. I am excited to find out the challenges that lie ahead. May the games begin!
