Dear Rosie, (Love Letters #2) by S.J. Tilly

ABOUT THE BOOK

Rosie
I was eight when Nathan moved away.
He was my best friend.
My only friend.
My safe space.
And then he was gone. And my life turned into Hell.
But I survived.
I broke free and made a life for myself.
And I tried to forget about the boy who grew up to be Nate Waller, the famous retired football player.
I really did try to forget.
But then I opened the door, while working at a client’s house, and he was there. Standing before me.
My old friend.
My unwitting confidant.
My Nathan.
Except… he doesn’t recognize me.

Nate
The curvy little redhead captured my attention the second I saw her.
And I knew I needed to have her.
Needed to know her better.
Needed to get my hands on her.
But when I did.
When she moaned my name. My full name. It all came rushing back.
Twenty-five years had passed, but in that moment I finally recognized her.
My Rosie.
My childhood friend.
I may have forgotten about her. But I remember now.
And this time I’m not letting her go.

MY REVIEW

This is book 2 in the Love Letters series, and I couldn’t put it down. Two young friends are torn apart when one moves away, leaving the other to navigate her tragic life on her own.

My heart broke for eight-year-old Rosie when she was left alone and vulnerable with no one to love her like she deserved. Twenty-five years later after leaving her tragic past behind, this brave and guarded woman picks herself up and works three jobs to run her own catering business while the boy she trusted and loved so many years ago becomes a professional football player and forgets all about her.

I felt Rosie’s devastation when Nathan didn’t recognize her, and I was so angry when Nathan considered her another conquest and labeled her a fangirl. Their journey unravels a tale of remorse, redemption, and undying love as Nathan seeks to make amends for his past actions and oversights with beautiful gestures and gut-wrenching contrition.

Ms. Tilly writes very moving and engaging love stories using letters between the main characters adding depth to the story. Rosie’s letters to Nathan are heart-wrenching and so emotional as Nathan discovers her secrets and sees her for the incredible person she has become.

I highly recommend this gorgeous must-read story with unforgettable characters who will bring you to tears. The series continues to captivate me, and I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Thank you to Ms. Till for giving me the opportunity read this book with no expectation of a positive review.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

S.J. TillyLike all her books, S.J. Tilly resides in the glorious state of Minnesota, where she was born and raised. To avoid the freezing cold winters, S.J. enjoys burying her head in books, whether to read them or write them or listen to them.

When she’s not busy writing her contemporary smut, she can be found lounging with her husband and their herd of rescue boxers. And when the weather permits she loves putting her compost to use in the garden, pretending to know what she’s doing. The neighbors may not like the flowery mayhem of her yard, but the bees sure do.
