MY REVIEW
Book 1 of the Hibiscus Harbor series introduces us to unexpected love between Kate and Hudson. It’s a sweet small-town romance with a little bit of suspense.
Kate is living her best life. She’s got her fun-loving friend, Grace, a job she truly enjoys, and let’s not forget her adorable pet goose, Wilbur, who provides endless honks and companionship. Hudson is a determined firefighter and co-owner of a bar who has a big cuddly dog named Pepper and a wonderful mom who lives down the block.
Neither of them is actively searching for love, but fate has other plans. It’s lovely watching them start to open up to each other, sharing parts of their lives that they usually keep under wraps. Those little secrets and vulnerabilities suddenly become the glue holding them together, as they find comfort in one another’s company. In addition, someone is sabotaging Kate’s life and unforeseen challenges bring the lovers even closer together proving that love can flourish even amidst chaos.
Interspersed throughout the budding romance are colorful supporting characters that add depth and laughter, making Kate and Hudson’s journey not just about their relationship but about the community they’re surrounded by.
If you love stories about love that finds you when you’re least expecting it, wonderful friends who are there for you at every turn, and adventures that get your heart racing, give this one a try. I’m looking forward to more books in this series.
