Apparently, I’m Trouble (Apparently, We’re the Problem #3) by Demi Blaize

ABOUT THE BOOK

Mia Walker might be a lot of things, but she isn’t trouble. Is she?

Theo Hudson seems to think she is. The grumpy single father can’t believe this fiery unfiltered woman is his daughter’s scholarship mentor. She’s sarcastic, unapologetic and… he can’t stop thinking about her.

The only problem is, Mia has a clear goal. She has to earn five program spots for her students, or Lilly, her best friend and boss, will lose her promotion. She can’t afford distractions. Lilly needs her.

The stakes are high, but as Theo and Mia get thrown together again and again, the tension between them reaches boiling point.

Are either of them prepared for the trouble they might cause?

Apparently, I’m Trouble is a spicy, fun enemies to lovers romantic comedy based on the question: Is love really worth the trouble?

MY REVIEW

Apparently, I’m late to the game reading this delightfully spicy series as I just finished book 3. This fun enemies-to-lovers tale features the charming Mia Walker and the grumpy but lovable Theo Hudson.

Mia is the kind of teacher we all wish we had. She’s witty, smart, and bursting with British charm. The way she fiercely supports her best friend and boss, Lilly, really tugs at your heartstrings. I couldn’t help but root for her as she navigates the tricky waters of keeping Lilly’s head teacher position safe while sacrificing her own happiness.

Theo Hudson is the uptight, grumpy single dad who initially rubbed me the wrong way. His accusations about Mia to her boss are uncalled for and he doesn’t even apologize for it until much later in the book. However, he redeems himself when we see how brokenhearted he is as he fights his feelings for Mia while protecting his daughter.

The tension between the two protagonists is hot, hot, hot and when a weekend together turns everything upside down, they can’t go back. Both Theo and Mia quickly realize that they might just have to put their own happiness on hold for the sake of everyone else in their lives. The back-and-forth banter kept me glued to the pages, and I just couldn’t wait to see how it all played out.

What I really loved about this book is it’s heartfelt authenticity about single parenthood, friendship, and the sacrifices we make for those we love.

If you’re a fan of lively banter, spice, and the oh-so-satisfying tension and fun of an enemies-to-lovers romcom, then this book should be at the top of your reading list. I can’t wait to read Rochelle’s story next!

Thank you to Ms. Blaize for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
