MY REVIEW
If you’re a fan of found family stories, you’re in for a treat because installment 3 of the Moonlit Ridge series hits all the feels!
Kane captured my heart from the very beginning. He’s a part of a secret band of brothers that’s all about protecting others from monsters in this world. His found family is a beautiful combination of broken people who have found the light with each other and let me tell you, his loyalty knows no bounds. His life has been filled with guilt, which only makes his journey more compelling. Kane has one goal: “You take care of the ones you love most”. Just when you think he’s on a solitary path making up for his failures, in swoops Emery and Maci, and everything shifts.
Emery has endured so much. Not only does she have a tragic secret about her youth, but she has gone through the unimaginable pain of losing her twin sister. Now she may lose her beloved niece to a stranger. It’s no wonder she struggles with trust. Her character is filled with heartbreak, and as I read, I found myself rooting for her in every chapter.
But what truly melted my heart was Kane’s relationship with little Maci. The way he loves her is beautiful and adds so much depth to his character. It’s one thing to have a tough, swoon-worthy hero, but add in this unbreakable bond with an adorable little girl, and I was totally invested in the story.
The suspense and mystery kept me on the edge of my seat. There’s a sense of evil lurking in the shadows of this story, slowly creeping its way in as you read. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, BAM! The shocking twist hits like a bombshell.
If you haven’t yet picked up the Moonlit Ridge series, what are you waiting for? The struggles, the tears, and the eventual triumph they experience together is a journey you won’t want to miss. It’s not just a story about overcoming obstacles; it’s about finding love and family where you least expect it.
