Falling for Love (Dare to Fall Series #3) by Carly Phillips

ABOUT THE BOOK

One reckless night was supposed to be forgettable.
Instead, it changed everything.

I wasn’t looking for trouble when I met Jack Dare in a Charleston bar.

But one look at the devastatingly handsome stranger and suddenly I wanted things I’d spent years denying myself.

Freedom.
Desire.
Him.

So for one night, I stopped being careful.

One drink turned into stolen kisses.
One kiss turned into a night I still can’t forget.
And by morning, I disappeared before Jack could learn the truth about me.

Because men like him don’t survive people like my ex-boyfriend.

Powerful. Ruthless. Obsessed with control.
The kind of man who doesn’t let go once he decides you belong to him.

I thought leaving was the only way to protect Jack.

Until two pink lines changed everything.

Now I’m standing outside his Miami doorstep pregnant, terrified, and running out of options.

But the man who opens the door isn’t shocked.
He’s furious someone made me afraid to come to him.

Jack Dare is protective, relentless, and impossible to walk away from.
The kind of man who would burn the world down for the people he loves.

And the more danger closes in around us, the harder it becomes to remember this was never supposed to be forever.

Because Jack isn’t letting me run again.

And for the first time in my life…
I don’t want to.

MY REVIEW

Isn’t it funny how one moment can change everything? For Jack and Taylor, what started as an instant spark became a one-night stand that grew into something way more complicated and beautiful.

Jack has a lot of charisma, and his true, kind-hearted nature shows in every interaction. Above all, he takes initiative when Taylor gets pregnant, and this is the reason why I respect him so much. When Taylor says, “he’s one of the good ones”, I completely agree with her. It’s a pleasant sight to meet someone genuine in a world where authenticity is uncommon.

Taylor is also a real person who is deeply entangled in a difficult situation. Her ex, Chandler, is a dangerous man with both influence and power, and he is blackmailing her. She knows that bringing Jack into this chaos could put his livelihood in danger, and that thought alone is enough to make her hesitate. What impressed me about Taylor was her determination. She understands just how important it is to introduce Jack to her complicated life. I respect the fact that she didn’t avoid telling him the truth about the pregnancy, even though it did take her longer than I liked to tell him about the ex.

Jack and Taylor are such a perfect match, and I knew from the start they would work this out together. Their willingness to be honest with each other and slowly let each other in is what makes their story great. It also didn’t hurt that they have a great support system in their family and friends.

If you enjoy love stories with mature characters brave enough to face life’s messiness together, then give this one a read. You won’t be disappointed.

Thank you to Ms. Phillips for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
